Rewrite Option for WWI Essays

How'd you do on your World War I essay?  Your first drafts were returned to you this week, and you have the option to rewrite them for a higher grade.

Remember:  the rewrite is optional.  You are able to opt out and keep your current grade.

If you received 50% - 60%, a strong rewrite can earn you a 70%.
If you received 61% - 69%, a strong rewrite can earn you a 75%.
If you received 70% - 74%, a strong rewrite can earn you a 80%.
If you received 75% - 80%, a strong rewrite can earn you a 85%.
If you received an 85% or higher, you can earn the average of your two drafts.

Rewrites must be submitted WITH the original first draft AND the rubric.  Rewrites are due in class on Monday and Tuesday.

MLA Format

Isn't it nice to realize that your teachers aren't just making this stuff up?

When writing ANY academic paper, be sure to follow the rules of the MLA for your formatting.  This includes font, spacing, titles, headings, footnotes, and on and on and on.

For additional resources, check out the Purdue OWL.

Happy writing!

Did you know ...

... that an earthquake can shorten the length of a day?

... a giraffe can go without water longer than a camel?

... the last dinosaur on earth is a CHICKEN?!

These are all fun facts gleaned from the website, OMG Facts.
The student, DB, introduced our third period class to the site, and now we are all hooked!

Have a great weekend!
Happy learning!
